From the 20 April 2016, 8 new EU directives become operative in the European Union without transitional period. The CE mark is used to certify conformity to these directives and standards.

The new China RoHS was published under the auspices of the Chinese Ministry MIIT on 21 January 2016 directive (SJ/T 11364-2014). Weidmüller products may also be affected by this directive. The new directive came into force from 1 July 2016 and thus replaced the previous China RoHS made in 2006 (SJ/T 11364-2006).
Following substances and its compounds fall under this directive. These are so far analogous to the EU RoHS directive including the applicable limits.

Mercury (Hg): 0,1%
Cadmium (Cd): 0,1%
Hexavalent Chromium (Cr (VI)): 0,1%
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB): 0,1%
Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE): 0,1%

Since 1992, Weidmüller has a quality management with the international management standard DIN EN ISO 9001.
In 2004, another important step towards sustainability followed by the merging of the systems for occupational safety, environment and quality management into an Integrated Management System (IMS). This integration ensured the clear definition of responsibilities and the compliance of the Weidmüller management principles at all locations throughout the whole company. This company strategy continues throughout the certification of the energy management according to DIN EN 16001 in 2011 and the switch to DIN EN ISO 50001 in 2012. In addition, the requirements of ISO / IEC 80079-34 for ATEX- and IECEx products and the requirements of the nuclear-standard KTA 1401 and 10 CFR 50, Annex B are considered as an integral part of the Integrated Management System.
