Marion Sommerwerck – New Head of Corporate Communications at Weidmüller

Marion Sommerwerck assumed the role of Head of Corporate Communication at international family company Weidmüller on 1 October 2012. Weidmüller is the market leader in industrial connectivity and is represented in over 80 countries around the world. In her role, Marion Sommerwerck is responsible for all of the company's international communication activities and reports directly to CEO, Dr. Peter Köhler. Her predecessor at Weidmüller, Dr. Christa Pfeffer, moved to Southern Germany for family reasons.
Sommerwerck joined the company from international strategic consultancy firm Arthur D. Little, where she had been responsible for global marketing and corporate communication since 2008. The PR specialist has more than 20 years of professional experience in the communications sector and specialises in corporate communication, international PR and media relations, and brand communication. Sommerwerck studied Business Administration in Düsseldorf and Communication Sciences at the University of Duisberg-Essen. Before her time at Arthur D. Little, she worked for Deutsche Messe AG, corporate consultancy firm A.T.Kearney, as well as at Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt as Head of PR and Publicity.
