SNAP IN won over the German Design Council completely, with the independent jury subsequently awarding Weidmüller the German Innovation Award 2022 for its innovative SNAP IN connection technology. The German Innovation Award honours products and solutions from all sectors that set themselves apart from previous solutions above all thanks to their userfriendliness and added value. Weidmüller is integrating the innovative SNAP IN wire connection into an increasing number of products. These include: Klippon® Connect terminal blocks, RockStar® heavy-duty connectors and OMNIMATE® 4.0 connectors. Products with SNAP IN connection technology speed up wiring processes and raise them to an entirely new level.
With SNAP IN connection technology, installation and maintenance work are finished with a snap of your finger. The principle behind the new connection system is just as simple as its handling. The connection system in the products – Klippon® Connect terminal blocks, RockStar® heavy-duty connectors, OMNIMATE® 4.0 connectors – is supplied with a pre-tensioned spring that allows the easy and secure insertion of the stripped conductor into the clamping point with no further preparation. The conductor to be connected contacts the clamping point with a clearly audible “click”. And it’s just as fast the other way round. The conductor can be quickly and easily disconnected and the clamping point pre-tensioned by pressing the pusher or lever.

Klippon® Connect terminal blocks:
Weidmüller has now extended its comprehensive Klippon® Connect terminal block range with the new AS-Series with fast, simple and secure SNAP IN connection technology. Klippon® Connect terminal blocks with SNAP IN connection technology revolutionise panel wiring thanks to its intuitive and simple handling. The pre-tensioned clamping point enables the direct and tool-free plugging of rigid and flexible conductors with and without wire-end ferrules. Reducing the effort required for conductor preparation speeds up the wiring time, resulting in an efficient installation process. The open clamping point used in the “ready-to-wire” ASSeries also allows for robot-supported, direct wiring.
When developing the AS-Series, Weidmüller focused on a conductor crosssection range of ≤ 2.5 mm2 . The highest number of connections are in this range, allowing full utilisation of the advantages of the SNAP IN technology in wiring.

OMNIMATE® 4.0:
Is a configurable connector series which can be used to create power, signal and hybrid connectors. RockStar® heavy-duty connectors:
Heavy-duty connectors from the RockStar® series are an integral part of machinery and plant engineering as well as the railway and wind industries. The innovative SNAP IN connection system is used in HDC-HE inserts of the RockStar® series. With these HDC-HE inserts, wiring can be carried out more reliably, quickly, flexibly and easily, considerably speeding up installation and maintenance work.
