Compact and durable solutions for bifacial half-cell modules

Bifacial PV modules have solar cells on both the back and the front of the panel. This allows the solar energy to be collected on the back of the panel and increases the energy yield of the solar energy system.

The four new variants of our high-current PV combiner box for bifacial half-cell modules enable a higher current consumption due to the fuse holders used.

Standard options in stock and ready to order

We offer a wide range of solutions that are kept in stock and are available immediately to fit into installation concepts for the PV module brands mentioned above. There are different variants of our high-current combiner box: With 6 or 8 inputs, with a 50 A fuse, with (+/-) pole fuse protection and with 22x58 mm gPV fuses with a rated current per fuse of between 35 and 75 amps.

Optimised design

Using advanced 3D simulation software, we've designed and tested the product variants to ensure that our high-current combiner boxes work with top mechanical and thermal efficiency in a housing that's as compact as possible.

Surge protection

With different configurations of our high-current combiner box, we offer the VPU surge protection series for 1500 V DC systems with up to 11 kA Isc and type I+II or type II variants.

Special fuse protection

Weidmüller fuses (WSFL) and fuse holders (WSFH) have been specially developed for the new architecture of the high-current combiner box. Rated currents of 35 to 75 amps per input enable the connection of single and double strings.

As a member of the CTDP program, Weidmüller is regularly audited by UL, especially regarding test methods, quality management and documentation.
