We face up to the challenges posed by the economy, science and society, and even use them as opportunities at the same time. Indeed, for a long time now, Weidmüller has been investing in sustainable education and innovation systems, and this approach has been institutionalised for more than ten years now in the Weidmüller Academy.
Our own Academy for knowledge transfer for more than 10 years
The Weidmüller Academy develops through training. One of the big challenges in today’s world is “life-long learning”. With a training network for staff, trainees and students of all ages, the Weidmüller Academy promotes people from new hires up to experienced employees. Established in 2003, it combines all the activities in respect of qualifications with the build-up of knowledge within the company and with the exchange of knowledge with external institutions, universities and partners. It is active on a regional, national and international scale.
Weidmüller Asia Academy founded in 2011
In 2011, we built on the success of the Weidmüller Academy in Germany and established a second Training and Knowledge Centre for East and Southeast Asia in Shanghai, China. We’re opening up new perspectives and connections for employees around the world – with the Weidmüller Academy. A local academy gives us greater proximity to our staff and customers, as well as to the next generation of potential talent and regional trends and requirements.
100 networks in education, science and society around the world
Knowledge is key – to shaping the future too. That’s why we promote colleges and institutes. For example, through awards such as the Industrial IT Research Award that we use to mark intelligent and creative work in the area of industrial automation technology. For example, through awards and scholarships to support dedicated students at Chinese universities like the Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the North China Electric Power University.
