Intelligent connections
for the energy supply of the future
Weidmüller has a focus on China at the Hanover Trade Fair – Process and energy technology as issues for the future
Detmold, 1 February 2012 – The Weidmüller Group will be presenting again at this year's Hanover Trade Fair. The globally active company, world leader in solutions and products in the area of Industrial Connectivity, is particularly pleased that the People's Republic of China is the partner country of this year's Hanover Trade Fair. "This growing market offers great opportunities for German companies, particularly in the so-called future-oriented areas such as renewable energy. The demand for energy will continuously increase. This means that renewable energy will become more and more important," said Dr. Peter Köhler, Weidmüller's chief executive officer. The company itself has developed numerous products for the energy supply of the future and has been present in China and Asia for a number of years with its market-specific solutions.
"In our 18 years on-site, we have been able not only to get to know the Chinese culture, but also and more importantly to appreciate it. We make a conscious effort to maintain a fair partnership characterised by mutual respect. This is demonstrated, for example, in the fact that we develop and produce our products in China together with Chinese engineers."

Weidmüller's recipe for success in Asia, where in 2010 a double-digit percentage of the total corporate turnover was generated, is simple – one must develop needs-related solutions for the Chinese market on the Chinese market. The strong ties that Weidmüller has with China also show in the company’s continuous commitment. Just last year, for example, it founded its own training and networking centre in Shanghai as well as a new sales subsidiary in Hong Kong.
Amongst other things, Weidmüller specialises in technological solutions for the process, energy and automation industries. Köhler: "From our point of view, e-mobility will grow immensely over the next few years, particularly in China. Therefore, we want to help design internationally valid connection standards for charging connectors and to implement the necessary infrastructure." The Hanover Trade Fair in April is an excellent opportunity to address and expand upon these topics.
