As first half of 2010 comes to a close, we are provided with positive encouragement for the rest of the year. These past few months were shaped by numerous product innovations, a very successful Hannover Trade Fair, and by several important new customers. All of these successes can be seen as one reflection of our growing support of the renewable power generation industry. Modern climate protection goals are placing more importance on renewable and eco-friendly forms of power generation. Innovative advancements in the electrical engineering industry are needed in order to best exploit the potential of renewable energy forms and to better meet the requirements of this evolving market. We have focussed on expanding our product line and expertise to cover renewable energy. In doing so, we have successfully positioned ourselves for this challenge.

Weidmüller now has a comprehensive line of components that can be used to support the efficient generation of power using photovoltaic facilities. Our range of components supports the production, installation, and operation of these facilities. During the production of photovoltaic modules, manufacturers (such as the Portuguese firm RPP Solar) can save both time and money by using Weidmüller's photovoltaic junction box. Without the need for any casting, hardening or manually connecting individual wires: our junction box completely automates the process. We are able to enhance the installation and operational reliability of a photovoltaic facility with our turn-key surge protection solutions. This surge protection can be customised to meet the individual requirements of each facility. The CLINICS SOLAR analysis tool allows users to monitor their photovoltaic facilities, optimise their output and increase their return on investment.
