Initial situation
REpower Systems AG is a high-technology company and one of the leading producers of wind power plants. REpower took advantage of intelligent connection systems in order to minimise down times, reduce in-plant pre-assembly, and reduce installation time at their wind farms. For its power, signal and sensor connections, the company sought a modular, easily swappable solution that would make use of a minimal variety of variants.
Solution
With its well-conceived design, WeiCoS – the Weidmüller terminal plus plug – combines many useful advantages in one product. Because they can be used both for signals and power, the WeiCoS terminals lead to a reduction in the number of variants in use. The terminals thus support REpower’s modular automation and wiring concepts.
