Initial situation
In the Polish brewery "Lezajsk Beer”, numerous palettes loaded with crates of empties are placed in the brewery’s bottle cleaning system every day by a crane to clean the empty beer bottles. This task is performed by a crane, whose hydraulic valves crane were switched by means of contactors. However, due to the high inductive loads the contactor contacts were constantly subjected to burn-out so that the contactors in this application have been unable to exceed an operational service life of more than two years.
Solution
For a more durable solution, "Lezajsk Beer” came up trumps with Weidmüller’s three-phase Power Solid-State Relays. Not only are the solid-state relays insensitive to inductive loads they are also wear-free and totally silent.
