Initial situation
The Desiro ML is an innovative regional train from Siemens mobility that establishes a milestone in the rail industry. The modular design of the Desiro ML is a perfect fit for the quick-changing requirements of regional European rail networks. Siemens turned to Weidmüller for help in designing a safe, reliable communication connection with the multifunctional vehicle bus (MVB) used in their passenger information system.
Solution
Four-pole versions of Weidmüller’s CSB (ConCept System Bus) ensure the safe transmission of data in the MVB used on the state-of-the-art Desiro ML. A unique feature of this ConCept system is that the user can individually combine the pluggable connectors. A one-pole version of the CSB connector is, for example, used for the coax cabling abourd the Desiro ML trains.
