Seismic requirements fulfilled
After completing their lab test successfully, Weidmüller's PRV and PPV PUSH IN terminals for routing and potential distribution can now be used under seismic conditions.
The new PUSH IN terminals for routing and potential distribution (the PRV and PPV) were made possible by truly innovative and pioneering development at Weidmüller. These terminals have a Christmas-tree profile and have been designed for control systems requirements; with four, eight and even 16 connection levels, they facilitate a very high wiring density in a minimum of space. Using the PRV 16, more than 1,700 signals can be connected in a width of just one metre inside the electrical cabinet width. They allow you to implement much more compact wiring solutions than traditional systems offer.
In cooperation with an accredited testing laboratory (which specialises in earthquake simulation tests), Weidmüller has defined a special testing procedure for testing the suitability of the PRV and PPV under seismic requirements. The successfully passed vibration tests serve as indicators for the applicability of the marshalling and distribution terminals for fossil-fired power plants in earthquake-pone regions, in particular. In this way, comprehensive approval tests of control cabinets in these applications, which are equipped with PRV and PPV, have been significantly simplified.
