Surge protection before the meter

Protection against overvoltages and surges without any leakage current for the use in industry and buildings

The PU I LCF line of lightning and surge protectors for power should be installed before the meter. The arrester protects the low voltage consumer and electronic devices from any direct lightning effects and couplings. The PU I LCF 30 kA fully complies with the IEC 61643-1. It is also approved in accordance with the requirements of Class I and Class II, and Type 1/Type 2 according to EN 61643-11.

Weidmüller's PU I LCF 30 kA range provides Class I surge protection based on varistor/gas discharge technology. The product line has a discharge capacity of 30 kA (10/350 μs), no leakage current and excellent protective characteristics. Different versions of the self monitoring arresters are available.

Features:

For use before the electrical meter

Never any leakage current: guaranteed because MOV (metaloxide varistors) and gas arresters are used. This permits the PU I LCF to be installed directly in the area before the electrical meter.

High security

The surge protection completely complies with Protective Class I according to IEC 62305, because of the high discharge current of Iimp = 30 kA (10/350 μs).

Status message

The remote messaging contact can send status information about the protective function to the higher level controller.
