High-voltage transfer boxes

Weidmüller has designed a special high-voltage transfer box to help with quick and easy on-site connections.

During their installation and electrical fitting stages, new railway vehicles are a very busy construction site. That is why it is very beneficial to produce as many components as possible ahead of time off-site. These pre-assembled components can then be connected on-site in just a few steps. So Weidmüller has developed application-specific housing solutions for the railway industry that are delivered already prepared for the connection.

One such solution is the high-voltage transfer box designed by Weidmüller to permit extra quick cable connections. Normally cables are fed in on-site. They must then be pulled out of the top of the housing in order to fasten the cable lug and to carry out the crimping. Only after that can the cable be connected in the housing.

Weidmüller has designed the high-voltage transfer box with extra large cable glands so that cables with attached cable lugs can easily be routed in. This allows the user on-site to quickly connect the pre-assembled cables to the ST-400 stud terminals in the housing.
