Detmold, 28 October 2016. On 1 November 2016, Dr Timo Berger (43) will take over as Regional Manager for central Europe and Managing Director of Weidmüller Germany, based in Detmold. He is to succeed Arnold Büscher, who has been managing the business in Central Europe since 2010. In his new role, Dr Berger will be intently focused on heading up the company's component and technological solution sales in Germany, Switzerland and the Benelux countries.
Due to the fact that Dr Berger has occupied various positions at Weidmüller since 2005, the company has therefore committed itself to an established specialist in Industry 4.0 solutions. Over the last eleven years Dr Berger successfully and sustainably shaped the development of machinery and plant engineering solutions at Weidmüller. During this time, among other things, the remote I/O system u-remote came into being as one of the most innovative systems for planning the smallest available panels on the market.

Dr Berger was most recently responsible for the implementation of the new Factory Automation division, which is particularly involved in automation of production sites and manufacturing plants. Prior to this he was vice president of the Electrical Connectivity division as well as the Electronic Interfaces division. At the beginning of his career at Weidmüller he started out in the role of assistant to senior management and was subsequently employed as technology director in China.
Dr Berger is a graduate of the University of Paderborn in Business Engineering. Prior to his time at Weidmüller, he worked at the Heinz-Nixdorf Institute at the University of Paderborn, where he completed his doctorate with a thesis on development methods for technology strategies. Dr Berger hails from Bielefeld, has 2 children and lives with his family in Oerlinghausen in East Westphalia, Germany.
